We have picture lock! Our BFI NETWORK funded short film Chokehold is another step closer to completion and we’re celebrating with the release of one of our absolute favourite shots featuring two of our cast members Philip Bedwell and Mike ‘Wild Boar’ Hitchman.

In a desperate attempt to escape his troubled home life, a young teenage boy runs away to seek out his estranged father, a once-famed professional wrestler. Written and directed by Christopher Bevan and produced by Catriona Kelly of camakel productions in association with YSP Media, Chokehold was selected for funding by BFI NETWORK as part of the 2024 open call, one of just 31 short films shortlisted nationwide. Principal photography was completed over four days in Spring 2025 and with post-production currently underway, we are aiming for an early 2026 release.

Chokehold stars Eddie Coates, Philip Bedwell, Lis Hipkiss, Mike ‘Wild Boar’ Hitchman, Ross Marshall, Jo Barker and Carl Bryan.
